How I work
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all! I adapt my approach to you, your specific situation, your resources, preferences, needs and and the pace that feels safe & useful for you. My work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed, and relational approaches, while also paying attention to the body, emotions, thoughts, and inner patterns that may be difficult to change through talking alone, and we chose together intuitively what would be best for you. Some of the modalities I use & am trained am are:
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a gentle but deep method that uses eye positions to help access and process experiences that may be stored beyond words (similar to EMDR). The idea is that where we look can connect with how we feel inside. This can be especially helpful when working with trauma, emotional overwhelm, or experiences that feel “stuck” in the body and nervous system.
Cognitive Processing Therapy
CPT is a structured trauma-focused approach. It helps identify painful beliefs that may have developed after traumatic experiences, for example around safety, trust, guilt, shame, control, or self-worth. This approach can be especially helpful for people affected by trauma, including veterans and active-duty military clients.
Ego State Counseling
Ego state work, sometimes also called parts work, helps us understand different inner parts of ourselves. One part may want closeness, another may want to protect you by withdrawing. One part may feel angry, while another feels afraid or ashamed. Instead of fighting these parts, we explore them with curiosity and compassion, so they can work together in a more helpful way.
Hypno-systemic therapy
This approach combines elements of hypnosis with systemic therapy. It works with both conscious and unconscious processes while also considering the wider context of relationships, life patterns, and inner resources. The goal is not to “lose control,” but to access new perspectives, clarity, and possibilities for change.
Couples Therapy
In couples therapy, I draw from emotionally focused therapy and other relational approaches. Together, we look beneath the surface of conflict and explore the deeper needs, fears, and attachment patterns that often drive repeated arguments or distance. The goal is not to decide who is right, but to help both partners feel more understood, safer, and more connected.
Other Modalities: CBT & ACT
Therapy is not only about “thinking differently.” In my work, CBT and ACT are combined with a compassionate and practical focus on what matters to you. We may explore unhelpful beliefs, emotional avoidance, self-criticism, fear, shame, or old coping strategies that once made sense but no longer support the life and relationships you want.
About Me
Hello my dears,
I am Yuliya, a Clinical Psychologist (M.Sc.) and therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples and families in transition phases, including expats, internationals and those feeling stuck, out of place or lonely.
A little bit about myself: My journey began in Ukraine, where I was born and partially raised, before moving to Germany, where I spent the rest of my childhood and early adulthood. I completed my degree in Clinical Psychology there, gaining international experience through stays in the USA, Taiwan, Spain, and Portugal. These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of various psychological approaches, methods, cultural norms, and nuances, allowing me to appreciate the unique backgrounds of my clients and integrate them into our work together.
I believe it’s essential to consider not just the individual but also the broader context around the individual: their personal history, social and family networks, and the internal patterns shaped in response to them. My goal is to help you understand what is happening, find your own personal resources and with this knowledge move forward and reshape your life.

Challenges I am helping with
Relationship
I help couples navigate conflicts and transitions using Emotionally Focused Therapy and Nonviolent Communication. Together, we learn to express deep emotions and needs constructively. I also support individuals after a breakup, processing pain, reflecting on patterns, and rebuilding confidence. For those ready to date, I offer tools to clarify relationship goals, address anxieties, and develop healthy communication.
Loneliness
Loneliness often arises when we lose connection—both with others and ourselves. Fear of rejection can make us hide parts of who we are, intensifying isolation and making vulnerability harder. In our sessions, we’ll explore your true self, uncover hidden parts shaped by shame or fear, and help you express your authenticity in a healthy, empowering way.
Depression
Depression often hides suppressed emotions and unmet needs—like helplessness, anger, or loneliness. When pushed down too long, these feelings can surface as apathy, low motivation, and a loss of joy. Together, we’ll uncover what’s behind these emotions and develop healthy ways to express them—especially anger—so you can reclaim your sense of control and agency, and pursue what you truly want and need.
Parenting support
Together, we explore your child's emotions and needs, manage conflicts, navigate transitions, and find a parenting style that truly fits. We’ll develop effective boundaries, fun ways to motivate your child—even with chores—and techniques for handling tantrums. With an emphasis on joyful communication and deep connection, I support you in building a confident, warm, and playful approach to parenting.
Anxiety & fears
We explore the deeper, protective roles of anxiety and fear to uncover new possibilities for growth. Through a gentle hypno-systemic approach, we connect your conscious and subconscious mind, revealing fresh perspectives and solutions. By combining inner imagery, somatic awareness, and systemic insights, we reduce the hold of anxiety and fear, making room for calm, courage, and trust in your ability to face life’s challenges.
Stress & Burn-out
I’ll help you navigate stress by identifying its root causes and reactivating your inner and outer resources. Drawing on Polyvagal Theory and other somatic approaches, we’ll reduce signs of stress and burnout, guiding you toward a balanced, more regulated emotional state and building greater resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
